Amstar, a Denver-based real estate investment group, said Wednesday it is building a 16.7-acre industrial project at the Charleston Regional Business Center along Clements Ferry Road.

Amstar and its development partner, Childress Klein, began construction in January on the 278,720-square-foot speculative industrial building scheduled for completion by the end of July. The property will include a 300-foot deep front-loading configuration with a 30-foot clear height,

The project is targeted toward aviation and aerospace suppliers, manufacturers and logistics operations because of its proximity to the Wando Welch Terminal — the largest terminal at the Port of Charleston — and Charleston International Airport and Boeing Co.’s Dreamliner campus in North Charleston.

Amstar acquires, develops and manages all major property types in the United States and in select international markets, with a focus on office, multifamily, industrial, retail and hotel properties.

Childress Klein, based in Atlanta and Charlotte, is a full-service real estate company responsible for the development, leasing and management of more than 40 million square feet of office, industrial, retail, multifamily and self-storage properties throughout the South.

Michael White of Charleston Industrial, LLC will be representing the landlord for all leasing activity.
